The methodology and principles behind tyre fitting and removal of motorcycle, car and light commercial vehicles has been largely unchanged since the advent of the pneumatic tyre. The process of inserting a lever or bar into the inner bead of a tyre, and using that to provide purchase and manipulate the tyre over the rim edge is common to all types of equipment manufactured and used for the fitting and removal of rubber tyres.

When we received an enquiry from a Midlands-based, specialist alloy wheels business for a wheel balancer, we were immediately intrigued by the very specific nature of the request. Driftworks in Birmingham were struggling to balance certain types of rims due to the negative offset design, which meant the rim was effectively pushed further out than is typical. The consequence is that it can physically cause problems with the rim fitting onto their existing machine, but also potentially hamper the ability to enter data correctly and position the weights in the right place.
Leading industry journal ‘Tyre Trade News’ recently did a piece on Giuliano Automotive UK in their January edition of the magazine. Tyre Trade News is a longstanding publication, and widely recognised as the ‘must-read’ medium for the tyre industry. Their article on Giuliano demonstrates the presence we have in the UK, and we are delighted to support them and use TTN as a platform to communicate to the wider market as we further establish the ‘G’ as a recognised hallmark for premium quality tyre equipment.
It is nearly 30 years ago that Giuliano introduced the first 12v tyre changer for installation into vehicle. Literally wiping out the air-operated machines used prior this introduction, Giuliano went on to become a familiar sight in mobile fitting vans across Europe and beyond.
