Building on the principle of the SX116, this model is effectively an oversized version of the old school swing-arm design, ensuring an increased capability which has made especially popular with motorsport support teams and higher end mobile fitting operations. As well as a deeper chassis to house an even bigger OD (Overall Diameter of the tyre), the big difference is in the cylindrical main column. This incredibly strong design not only allows for an even taller option over the SX116 (think about extra-wide wheels and the difficulty that can be faced removing the bottom bead if the column is not tall enough), but it also serves as an air-reservoir, storing a supply of air which can be used to shoot high pressure from the jaws and help seat the beads on badly stored or 4×4 tyres.
