The SX116 ‘Swing-Arm’ tyre changer is a semi-automatic machine, of traditional design and build quality. The classic ‘swing’ design has been largely replaced in workshops over time by the more speedy and versatile ‘tilt-back’ models. However, there is still very much a place for this type of machine, most notably in mobile tyre fitting operations where space consumption is obviously a key factor. Therefore, unlike most swing-arm machines manufactured today, which are generally built to achieve a low price, this model is cleverly thought out to provide the best possible performance without compromising on space or reliability. As well as a very heavy duty structure (these machines are also loved by recycling operations where they need something very simple but fast and reliable to take the volume and hammering of ‘stripping’ tyres from rims), the SX116 offers an increased main column height and bead breaker opening than lower cost alternatives, ensuring the capability to handle not just large diameter, but also wide rims typical of rears on certain BMWs, Porsches etc. Boasting the famous ‘Power X’ 4 cylinder turntable, which provides an impressive 10” to 26” (24” outside) clamping range, the SX116 can be supplied in a 12v format or 240v operation.

Compact Assist Arm
The SX116 can be equipped with a space-saving version of our famous ‘assist arm’, which will provide valuable, additional assistance when handling difficult tyres fitted to alloy rims.
One components will push the bead down at the demount head, firstly to enable the application of the tyre lever, but also to hold the bead down during the re-fitting process and prevent it from popping back up over the head. The other component travels 360 degrees with the rotation of the rim on the turntable, keeping the bead down into the well of the rim and effortlessly fitting the tyre to the rim without the need for additional levers or physical stress.

The ‘Power X’ Four cylinder turntable is undoubtedly the most reliable, most capable turntable on the market, offering additional clamping ‘grip’, better reliability, better performance and much longer life.
12v ‘Mobile’ Operation
The SX116 is predominantly used in mobile fitting operations due to its advantageous space consumption without compromising on ability. Our 12v motor is a unique high torque version which has been designed to provide exactly the same performance as a workshop 240v machine, but with the added convenience of being able to run from a battery.
