Leading industry journal ‘Tyre Trade News‘ features Giuliano Automotive UK in their January edition of the magazine. Tyre Trade News is a longstanding publication, and widely recognised as the ‘must-read’ medium for the tyre industry. Their article on Giuliano demonstrates the presence we have in the UK, and we are delighted to support them and use TTN as a platform to communicate to the wider market as we further establish the ‘G‘ as a recognised hallmark for premium quality tyre equipment. Here is the article in full:
“The name Giuliano may not be immediately recognisable to many, in fact some may even struggle with pronouncing the name! However, the product is already well established in the UK, having been sold for many decades under different brand names, and there is a high probability that, if you own a tyre changer, you may well already be using a Giuliano.
Giuliano Automotive is an Italian manufacturer who celebrate their 50th anniversary this year, having manufactured garage equipment in the ‘tyre changer capital’ of Correggio since April 1976. Supplying product to famous brand names such as Hofmann Megaplan and Wurth in the UK, the company established their own facility last year on the outskirts of Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. With offices and showroom facility housed in one location, and extensive warehousing at another just down the road, the new local operation offers arguably the largest range of premium quality tyre changing and wheel balancing equipment in the UK, delivering product on their own vehicles and installed and supported by their own, factory-trained and highly experienced technicians.
The people behind Giuliano Automotive UK are also well known, with most having been engrained in the tyre industry all of their working lives. The business was established on behalf of the Italian factory, still a family business itself, by James Boon, a name that has been associated with tyre and garage equipment since he started fresh from school in 1991. James most notably established Hofmann Megaplan UK in 2004, before selling the company in 2017. Despite staying on for several years in various executive roles, James finally left in February 2025. A ‘trial’ at retirement didn’t provide a suitable substitute for his passion for the industry, and in October last year he was offered an opportunity to partner with Giuliano, a supplier he had worked closely with for over 20 years, to help them establish their own facility in what is a very important market to them.
Although James’ remit was to help build the foundations, the long term ownership and direction will be very much transitioned to factory-ownership. As part of the framework for what the company firmly believes will become a UK leader in their sector, a number of people were recruited who have long term ties with James, most notably Brian Hogg, Andy Ringrose, and Andy Currell, who are leading the administrative, sales and technical elements of the business respectively. James’ son, Jaydn Boon, is also in the business, maintain the company’s belief in continuity and that ‘family feel’ that was undoubtedly a huge factor in the success of James’ former operation.
Covering the whole of the UK, Giuliano Automotive UK are planning to expand their presence in the balancing market, with the introduction of their all-new ‘GEN P’ series, already proving a hit with tyre shops, garages and main dealers whose standards demonstrate the quality and performance of these new models.”
